HFE is composed of two patrons, an Honorary President, a Treasurer, an Executive Committee and an Advisory Committee.
HFE's Honorary President is John Bowis who was a Member of European Parliament from 1999 to 2009. John became HFE's Honorary President in November 2009.

The Patrons of HFE are former European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection, David Byrne, and the founder of the Institute for Microtherapy , Professor Dr. Grönemeyer.
