The following transparency code was adopted by the Executive Committee of Health First Europe on 19 April 2007 and is applicable as from that date.
The organisation shall publish relevant information on its website such as the statutes, the code of transparency, and a financial statement.
The organisation shall clearly state and make public its objectives and mission, as set down in the statutes of Health First Europe.
The organisation shall publish information on its activities on its website in the form of reports, newsletters or press releases. The organisation shall clearly state the main objectives of its activities and relationship with public or private partners.
Opinions and statements of the organisation shall be developed in a transparent, democratic way. Members shall have the possibility to contribute to internal consultations. An effective dialogue between the organisation’s Committees, the Secretariat and the General Assembly shall be ensured. All decision-making is governed by the HFE ASBL statutes which are publicly available on the Moniteur Belge.
A financial statement stating funding sources shall be made public on the website. This shall identify members who have contributed to HFE. The public accounts of the organisation shall be available on the website.
The role of the Executive Committee and other Committees shall be defined and endorsed by the General Assembly. Members of the Executive Committee and other Committees of the organisation shall be elected by the General Assembly in compliance with the statutes. Information on the members of the Executive Committee and on their professional activities outside HFE activities shall be publicly available on the organisation’s website. The people holding other prominent responsibilities within the organisation shall be listed on the website such as the President, the Vice-President and the Treasurer. The work of Health First Europe shall be supported by the organisation’s Secretariat.
The full list of HFE members shall be available on the website. Further membership requests shall be examined by the Executive Committee and approved by the General Assembly in compliance with the statutes.
