HFE response to the European Commission's consultation on healthcare-associated infections

On 20 January 2006, Health First Europe submitted its response to the European Commission's consultation on healthcare related infections (HCAI). HFE highlighted the need for:

• Co-ordination and exchange of best practices in the Member States' efforts to control healthcare-associated infections
• Promotion of better education and training at Member States level
• Increased use of medical innovation designed to improve safety
