Health First Europe participates in the 3rd Global Patients Congress in Budapest

From 20 to 22 February, Health First Europe (HFE) participated in the 3rd Global Patients Congress in Budapest, running an information stand and taking part in the fruitful debates. The Congress organised by the International Alliance of Patient’s Organisations gathered almost 200 health stakeholders (patients' organisations, policy-makers and industry representatives). Key note addresses demonstrated the central role that patients are increasingly playing in healthcare today. Sir Liam Donaldson, Chief Medical Officer, England and Chair of the WHO World Alliance for Patients Safety, Ms Katalin Rapi, Secretary of State for Health Policy at the Ministry of Health, Hungary and Mr. Andrzej Ryś, Director, Public Health & Risk Assessment at the European Commission, DG SANCO, all highlighted the importance of developing collaboration between patients and all other healthcare stakeholders.

HFE discussed with the participants the need for patient-centred healthcare and presented its past and future activities.
